titleFor Graduate Students: What does this message mean on my audit - Note: In no instance shall course credit be counted more than twice in satisfaction of the requirements for multiple degrees and/or programs. If you are pursuing more than one program/degree please confirm your anticipated program of study with your academic advisor.

Degree Works  treats each graduate degree separately (MA/MS, CAS, PhD). Courses may plug into requirements in all degrees a student is enrolled in. This is why there is a disclaimer in the degree block about triple counting not being allowed:

Note: In no instance shall course credit be counted more than twice in satisfaction of the requirements for multiple degrees and/or programs. If you are pursuing more than one program/degree please confirm your anticipated program of study with your academic advisor.

In order to prevent triple counting, a careful review of all of the programs a student is enrolled in can reveal if a class is being triple counted.  A Remove Course exception would be processed by your school/college to remove a class from the program where the class will not be allowed to fulfill the requirement.

titleI am non-active in my program (e.g. discontinued; leave of absence), but can still see it in Degree Works; why?

If you have discontinued from a program (with a different degree type) but are still active/enrolled in another program, the discontinued audit may still appear in Degree Works. MySlice will show your active program information.

If you have taken a leave of absence or discontinued from your program (no active programs at all), no new information will pull into your audit.  You can access Degree Works in MySlice for 2 years after your discontinuance/leave, but information will remain the same as when your leave/discontinuance was effective. If you have not returned after the 2 year window, your audit will be purged in Degree Works.
