Assignments in Blackboard refer to a number of ways that electronic assignments can be set up for students to hand in digital copies of their work. Instructors can then manage the grades and feedback for each student separately. In a Blackboard assignment, instructors create coursework, including a description, point value, and file attachments. Assignments can be created in several courses areas, such as in a Content Area, Learning Module, Lesson Plan, or folder. Electronic assignments can also be created using Turinitin, an internet-based plagiarism-detection service. Students access the assignment, type a submission, attach files, and submit it. Each student can be responded to separately with comments and attached files.
