If you have requested that a Virtual Machine be created for your research computing needs, you will need a couple bits of information to access it:
- Your NetID and password
- Your VM's hostname (this should be given to you by your Technology Support representative)
- A Connection to SU's Network
- Are you on campus? If yes, good! You're ready to start connecting.
- Are you off-campus?
- If yes, are you using a campus-managed computer configured for DirectAccessDeviceTunnel? If yes, good! You're ready to start connecting.
- If no, you need a copy of the SU VPN installed on your computer.

If you're on campus, or are off-campus using a campus-managed laptop configured with DirectAccess, you can skip this step.
Windows
- Download the SURA (the SU VPN tool) for Windows. Try to save it to your Desktop for easy access.
- Double click to run the file you downloaded, and log in with your SU NetID credentials. When you're connected you should see a dialog that looks like this:
